A Night of Trivia to Support the American Cancer Society

american.cancer.society.trivia.night.nycTonight, I have the honor of hosting a very special trivia fund raiser in New York City.

Following up on a very successful trivia fund raiser TrivWorks recently produced for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (Pan-Can), this evening we will be working once again to raise money and awareness for cancer and cancer research – this time in support of the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Tonight’s event, “Quizzing for Kili (For a Cure)” came about as a result of a very special woman’s inspirational quest to honor a loved one. Deirdre McGuinness lost her mother 11 years ago to pancreatic cancer. In an extraordinary effort to support cancer research and awareness, Deirdre will be taking on the challenge of summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro AND running the Kilimanjaro Half Marathon with the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation Program, which enables athletes to dedicate their training and participation in marathons, triathlons, cycling races, and other endurance events to a lifesaving effort to fight a disease that has already taken too many lives.

Featuring fun trivia and important information about the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer, tonight will be an incredibly important event supporting both ACS and Deirdre as she embarks on her journey.
