It is both a tremendous honor and incredibly humbling whenever a prestigious company retains TrivWorks to entertain a key group of clients – we take it quite seriously when we are trusted to represent a brand to such an important audience, and are privileged whenever we are given the opportunity to do so.

This week, we were thrilled to produce a client reward trivia event for Avalara, a Seattle-based company recognized as a global leader in specializing sales tax management technology. Avalara has a dedicated core following of passionate enthusiasts worldwide, and as a demonstration of how much they value this important group and appreciate their loyalty, they regularly hold local reward events for their “A-List” clients.

For this event, we were tasked with closing out a half-day presentation for NYC-area clients at Manhattan’s Eventi Hotel with a fun, high-energy sendoff, which also reinforced key messages about both the brand and their products. Following a comprehensive customization meeting, where we discussed demographic information about the expected event attendees and established the event’s goals, Avalara provided us with a series of facts about the company as well as their products which we were to incorporate into the trivia. We then crafted an entire event’s worth of fun & engaging trivia questions, tailored precisely for the expected audience of CFOs, CPAs and other tax professionals – including not just Avalara questions, but appropriately relevant and entertaining pop culture questions as well.

During the event itself, the group was broken down into teams, each consisting of both clients as well as Avalara staff. The game then went underway, with teams battling it out in a friendly, laugh-filled contest to see which would prevail! In between rounds, we brought up pairs of individuals to participate in 1-on-1 “mini game” bouts, giving away fun prizes and creating even more memorable experiences for attendees to talk about afterwards. We wrapped up the event on a suspense-filled high note, and everyone left feeling extremely happy, better informed about Avalara’s products, and more deeply connected with the brand itself.
