Yesterday, TrivWorks had the honor of producing our first-ever event with KPMG, one of the “Big Four” auditors, as well as one of the world’s largest professional services companies!

Held in KPMG’s Chicago office atop the Aon Center (the city’s 3rd tallest building, if you’d like a little trivia), the goal was to create a fun & memorable shared experience for a diverse group of KPMG employees, which would serve as the culmination of a long & successful project.

In the months prior to the event, we held a series of meetings with KPMG in order to tailor both the trivia questions and event format to their specific group and goals, incorporating fun facts about the firm and individuals present as well as highlighting key achievements of the project. We also took great care to ensure that the group was broken down into teams which were in line with the event goals, allowing select attendees to get to know each other particularly well over a brief period of time.

The event itself was held in a large meeting room, capable of comfortable accommodating our 70 attendees at 15 tables and featuring a professional stage/audio setup. After passing out materials and brief opening remarks by the project leader, our host provided an orientation, and we dove right into the trivia contest. Our event was made up of 6 rounds of full-room trivia, consisting of 10 trivia questions per round and each round having a specific theme customized specifically with the attendees/goals in mind. In between each round, we invited pairs of attendees to join the host onstage for laugh-filled 1-on-1 “mini game” trivia bouts, helping create even more fun & memorable experiences for the group to talk about afterwards!

We concluded the event with a high-stakes “bonus” round of harder questions worth double points, ensuring that we culminated the activity on as high a note possible. The winning team members were each awarded a bag full of great KPMG-branded items, and we had plenty of other fun branded giveaways throughout the event as well. Everybody was beaming as they left the event space, en route to a team dinner where they would no doubt be talking about the positive experience they’d just shared!

On behalf of TrivWorks, I want to thank KPMG for graciously inviting us to help produce this trivia team building activity, and for the opportunity to help a group of employees culminate and celebrate a successful project’s conclusion in a fun, high-energy way!
