What an event!

Last night, hundreds of avid pop culture enthusiasts packed The Bell House in Gowanus, Brooklyn to take part in Pat Kiernan’s 2nd Annual Red Carpet Trivia. With paparazzi flashbulbs popping, attendees entered the space to find a real red carpet waiting for them – along with great treats from Urban Rustic and Daly Pies (who hours earlier had achieved their Kickstarter fund raising goal to open a shop!)

Appropriately attired in full tuxedo, Pat took the stage with a rock star’s welcome, and treated the audience to a Billy Crystal-style opening number medley of customized lyrics to the themes of Cheers and The Brady Bunch – as well as a unique take on a contemporary Taylor Swift tune:

Pat then treated the 50+ teams in attendance to a series of full-room trivia rounds, including “Award-Winning Fails,” “Oscar Winners,” an audio round to identify “Emmy-Winning TV Show Themes,” and a round of harder “Pat’s Picks” questions. In between the rounds while scoring was being completed, Pat drew raffle tickets to get two lucky attendees at a time up onstage for 1-on-1 trivia “mini games,” bouting over such categories as “Oscar-Winning Moments,” “Tony Award Winners,” “Razzie Award Winners/Nominees,” and the crowd-pleasing music lyrics round, where Pat reads the lyrics of well-known pop songs in deadpan:

We had a few fun surprises sprinkled throughout as well, including a Johnny Depp stage crash and Cuba Gooding, Jr. acceptance speech:

Of course, John Travolta (aka: “Glom Gazingo”) also stopped by, to make things weird (but he also treated the crowd to a a spot-on dance routine straight out of Saturday Night Fever, which was awesome!)

The top two teams then joined Pat onstage for our high-stakes “showdown” finale, taking home ticket to see Blue Man Group and the off-Broadway show Nevermore.

On behalf of TrivWorks, I would like to thank Pat for hosting another incredibly fun & memorable event, The Bell House for being such a wonderful & accommodating host venue for NYC’s biggest trivia nights, our fantastic theme-appropriate prize partners, the friendly & professional “Pat’s Pages” grading team, our guest “celebrity” performers – and of course everybody in attendance who helped create a raucous, high-energy night of trivia in Brooklyn!

Our next mega trivia night at The Bell House is Wednesday, May 13th when we co-produce the first-ever Science Friday trivia night!
